Gardening Diary – March 30, 2019
Sharon fertilized straw bale beds #3-4 and watered all of the straw bale beds.
Started taking the fence along the bush bed panel by panel and moving the panels to attach to the panels along the old fence between the original bed and the Iris/Sedum bed.
Near the back of the latter 2 beds there was a bunch of Red Hot Pokers [Kniphofia sp.] right in the path where the next panel should go. Pruned these Pokers and then dug them out.
Faced then the presence of the concrete slabs that were under the fence of the old fence. Rather than digging these out, Sharon and I decided to move the fence so that the supports could be placed in the ground. We added the gate and 2 more panels up to the right side of the tier bed.

Gardening Diary – March 20, 2019
The greenhouse that we set up last year was messed up during the winter; the cover was torn up and a couple of the plastic holders were broken. Put together the remaining pieces of the greenhouse to form shelving.
Put 2 bags of Miracle-Gro 2-cu ft All Purpose Soil on straw bale bed #7. Put 1 bag of Miracle-Gro 2-cu ft All Purpose Soil and 1 ft3 bag of Sta-Green Flower and Vegetable Garden Soil on straw bale bed #8.
Sharon felt that putting 4 ft3 of soil was too much soil for covering 4 straw bales.
Sharon also noticed that the Sta-Green Flower and Vegetable Garden Soil held moisture longer than Miracle-Gro All Purpose Soil.
