Gardening Diary – March 30, 2020

 

Daffodils’ bed

Continued to weed the Daffodils’ bed.

Pruned 1 of the Hydrangeas [Hydrangea sp.] and cut back last year’s growth of False Asters [Kalimeris pinnatifida ‘Hortensis’]. Noted that False Asters were spreading into the Daffodils.

It is about time to dig up and separate the Daffodils [Narcissus sp.]. Most of the articles that I have read recommend that the bulbs be dug up when the Daffodils are dormant (e.g., when the leaves are brown).
