Started weeding in the Cardinal Red Twig Dogwood bed and pruning the Cardinal Red Twig Dogwood.

Took the pruned off branches from last week to the gulley next to Dave’s yard.

Weed-eated all the rows around the raised beds #1-6. Also, weed-eated the raised beds #5-6.

Sharon started cutting off the extra dead growth of the Ozark Strawberries.
Weed-eated the entrance through the trellis, the center part and the left walkway of the back bed.
Started to chip the refuse of the pruning of the volunteer Butterfly Bush [Buddleja davidii], the Green-headed Coneflowers bed, the New England Asters [Aster novae-angliae] and the bush that was growing in the back of the Sedum / Iris bed.
With just a little more of the above left, the chipper stopped working.
Removed the remaining Green-headed Coneflowers [Rudbeckia laciniata] in the bulb bed and around the Green-headed Coneflowers bed.
Weeded around the Red Hot Pokers [Kniphofia sp.] in the extended original bed.
Pruned out the remains of last year’s growth in the Green-headed Coneflowers bed.
Pruned the volunteer Butterfly Bush [Buddleja davidii] that is in the front of the left side of the back bed.
Removed a bush that was growing in the back of the Sedum / Iris bed.
Pruned out the remains of last year’s growth of the New England Asters [Aster novae-angliae].
Weed-eated on the right side of the garden including the area shown above.
Started clearing the straying Green-headed Coneflowers [Rudbeckia laciniata] in the bulb bed, Rose bed and the extended original bed.
Finished pruning of the Dappled Willow [Salix integra ‘Hakuro Nishiki’] that is in the right fence bed. Moved all of the debris to the gully next to Dave’s yard.
Started pruning the front porch bed.
Pruned the Toyo Nishiki Flowering Quince [Chaenomeles speciosa ‘Toyo Nishiki’] in the front porch bed. The debris again was taken to the gully next to Dave’s yard.
Started pruning the Dappled Willow [Salix integra ‘Hakuro Nishiki’] and the Cardinal Red Twig Dogwood [Cornus sericea ‘Cardinal’] that are in the right fence bed.
Started weeding and installing the brick edging on the right fence bed.
Since the Phantom Joe Pye Weed [Eupatorium x ‘Phantom’ P.P.# 18354] that was in this bed appears to be dead, conjectured that this plant and the Densiformis Yew [Taxus x media ‘Densiformis’], also in this bed, which died last summer were victims of Roundup drift. Dave uses Roundup and probably used it last summer in Joe’s yard next to the fence. Therefore, before we plant something in this part of the right fence bed, we need to install some solid fencing to prevent the drift.
