Moved all the pots that were in raised bed #7 over to the raised bed #6. For several years, we had these pots on shelves at the back of the house in the “herb bed”. These shelves began to deteriorate even though the irrigation setup was not working well. These pots will continue to be used for planting herbs.
Then weeded by hand raised bed #8.
Completed weed-eating the walkway along the right side of raised beds #1-4 and the walkways on either side of raised beds #5-6. Also weed-eated the raised beds #3-4.
Removed the stalks of the Sunflowers that were in raised bed #6 and placed them in the compost pile. Weeded and tried to even out the soil in the latter bed.
Started cleaning up the garden and started to prepare the raised beds so that we can start setting up straw bales in raised beds #1-4 and #7-8. Sharon and I decided to reduce the number of straw bale beds from 8 to 6.
Removed the green fence that was around part of raised beds #1-4, poles, posts, strings, trellises and remains of the plants that were in the latter raised beds. Removed the bird screen that covered raised bed #4. The remains of the plants were placed in one of our compost piles.
Weed-eated the walkway between the 2nd bulb bed and the Rose bed and part of the walkway on the right side of the raised beds #1-2. After moving the spinners of the irrigation system for the raised beds #1-4 to the edges of the beds, weed-eated the raised beds #1-2.
