The second round of freezing temperatures at night nipped some of the plants as they were recovering from the “deep freeze” in December:
Noah, while cleaning the porch, collected many items and put them in a large pile in the middle of the floor. He wanted me to sort the items, put those that I wanted to keep on the shelves, and put those, that I did not want to keep, in the garbage.
While taking the dogs, Lily and Paisley, outside noticed the following Tulip:
Went outside to take a picture, of where our original garden shed was located, for yesterday’s Gardening Diary. Noticed that the 2 Pink Flowering Almonds [Prunus glandulosa] were starting to bloom:
One side of the second bulb bed was full of Surprise Lilies [Lycoris squamigera]. Will be looking forward to see their blooms in late summer:
We had Farmer & Sons come and pick up the garden trash and take it to a dump. They could not take the hazardous trash.
Sharon is sitting in front of their truck and trailer. While they were loading the trailer, Sharon was digging up some Onions from the Daffodils bed.
We also had Farmer & Sons tear down the original garden shed and move it to the dump.
Noah emptied the garden shed and placed the contents into 2 piles, tools and rest of stuff. He brought the bags of garbage that he collected from cleaning the porch to the area along the right side of the fence.
Sharon and I further sorted the stuff into 3 categories, stuff that we wanted to keep, harzardous materials and other materials. We collected the newspapers and put them in a large contractor bag, tied together the cardboard, put the other smaller materials in a large contractor bag and the hazardous materials in boxes.
We then placed the sorted materials into 3 piles near the fancy gate next to the front right gate.
Today, the Toyo Nishiki Flowering Quince bush was fully in bloom.
As we walked in the front yard,
we noticed that the Toyo Nishiki Flowering Quince was almost in full bloom.
Next to the Toyo Nishiki Flowering Quince, the Scarlet Storm Flowering Quince started to show red buds.
The Daffodils in the front bulb bed started to show their full glory.
We were very happy to see that both of Emerald Gaiety Euonymus and Silver King Euonymus had a lot of little green/yellow leaves!
The Diane Witch Hazel bush started to show some blossoms.
Sharon and I worked on pruning the Dappled Willow in the back bed; Sharon also cleaned the area around the Dappled Willow.
In the past week, Sharon and Noah continued to clean the back porch.
Today, Sharon and I loaded some wood and boxes from this cleaning over to the Knox County dump.
For the second day in a row, continued with weeding and spreading black mulch on the front bulb bed and it started to rain! Additional phot...
