Gardening Diary – July 6, 2019

 Finished weeding of the front bulb bed. Most of the weeds uprooted were Violets, Nutsedge, Morning Glory and Creeping Charlie.

Sharon asked me to bring the large Beef Master Tomato from the garden. She was concerned that some critter would take a bite out of it; she read an article, Why Aren’t My Tomatoes Ripening?, from Cornell Cooperative Extension about the difficulty of getting Tomatoes to ripen when the temperatures are too high. She will follow the recommendation to bring the Tomato into the house and put it in a dark environment (a paper bag). We’ll see how this works.
