Daffodils bed

Again, Sharon and I spread 9 more 2 ft³ bags of pine bark mini nuggets mulch on the Daffodils bed. Again, while doing this, we had to do some weeding.

Yesterday, I found out why it was taking so long to get Lily back inside the house. She had pushed in the left door of the shed and started to pull out some of the contents of the shed. This morning, moved most of these contents back into the shed, reinstalled the 2 doors and installed a trellis in front of the left door.

In the early evening, watered the Daffodils bed and the Flowering Cherry bed.

Flowering Cherry bed and Wisley Supreme Witch Hazel

Sharon and I planted Gerbera Daisy [Gerbera jamesonii], Coleus [Solenostemon scutellarioides], Begonias [Begonia sp.] and Creeping Jenny [Lysimachia nummularia] in the Flowering Cherry bed. These were in 2 baskets of Gerbera Daisy and a Drop-N-Decorate basket purchased from Home Depot earlier this week.

Moved a wagon full of weeds over to Dave’s gulley.

Then Sharon and I spread 6 2 ft³ bags of pine bark mini nuggets mulch on the Flowering Cherry bed and around the Wisley Supreme Witch Hazel [Hamamelis mollis ‘Wisley Supreme’].

Watered the Flowering Cherry bed and the Daffodils bed.

Sharon, Flowering Cherry bed and Wisley Supreme Witch Hazel

Sharon and I finished weeding the Flowering Cherry bed.

We removed the Carol Mackie Daphne [Daphne x burkwoodii ‘Carol Mackie’] which we planted last year. It did not survive the winter.

Sprinkled Preen Extended Control Weed Preventer on this bed, the bed containing the Wisley Supreme Witch Hazel, and the rest of front bulb bed. Did not water these areas since rain is predicted for tonight and tomorrow.

Smoke Bush bed.

Pruned the Purple Smoke Bush [Cotinus Coggygria] and one of the Red Leaf Barberry Hedges [Berberis thunbergii  ‘Atropurpurea’] in order that the view from a car on the driveway is not obstructed.

Sharon and I weeded the Smoke Bush bed.

Sprayed Ortho Grass B Gon on patches of Bermuda grass that were in and near this bed. Also sprayed the patches of Bermuda grass in the Daffodil bed and in one of the beds containing Pink Muhly Grass [Muhlenbergia capillaris].

Sprinkled Preen Extended Control Weed Preventer on the Smoke Bush bed and part of the front bulb bed near the Coppertina® Ninebark [Physocarpus opulifolius ‘Mindia’].

Sango Kaku Japanese Green Maple

Sharon and I planted a Sango Kaku Japanese Green Maple [Acer palmatum ‘Sango kaku’] to replace the Japanese Maple [Acer palmatum var. dissectum ‘Tamukeyama’] in the Daffodils bed. We purchased this from Home Depot.

Sharon sprinkled Preen Extended Control Weed Preventer on this bed.
