Gardening Diary – May 24, 2022

 

Smoke Bush bed.

Pruned the Purple Smoke Bush [Cotinus Coggygria] and one of the Red Leaf Barberry Hedges [Berberis thunbergii  ‘Atropurpurea’] in order that the view from a car on the driveway is not obstructed.

Sharon and I weeded the Smoke Bush bed.

Sprayed Ortho Grass B Gon on patches of Bermuda grass that were in and near this bed. Also sprayed the patches of Bermuda grass in the Daffodil bed and in one of the beds containing Pink Muhly Grass [Muhlenbergia capillaris].

Sprinkled Preen Extended Control Weed Preventer on the Smoke Bush bed and part of the front bulb bed near the Coppertina® Ninebark [Physocarpus opulifolius ‘Mindia’].

Sharon, Flowering Cherry bed and Wisley Supreme Witch Hazel

Sharon and I then started to weed the Flowering Cherry bed and the Wisley Supreme Witch Hazel bed.
