With a nice spell of weather predicted for this week, I ventured into the front yard and decided to weed one of the circular beds on the right side.
Two years ago, we had planted 3 Celosia plants in each of these circular beds. As the Celosias are annual plants, we decided last year to replace them with the perennials Muhly Grasses [Muhlenbergia reverchonil UNDAUNTED] (see April 25, 2024). Surprisingly, the Celosias had seeded themselves in both beds. Sharon and I were so pleased by the 2024 Celosias that we did not remove them.
Unfortunately, we did not care for the garden while I was disabled with my fall.
The Celosias had crowded out the Muhly Grasses.
Started weeding the circular bed shown in the picture above. In addition to removing the weeds, primarily Onions and Violets, I also started to remove the remnants of the Celosia. Pruned back one of the Muhly Grasses. Cleared about 1/3 of the bed since I had to take Sharon to an appointment.
